PN Beach Ball Activity

Chipola College Practical Nursing (PN) students recently transformed a classroom review session into an energetic learning experience with a volleyball-themed challenge. The activity combined physical engagement with academic review, reinforcing critical nursing knowledge in a fun and interactive format.

Students were divided into teams and competed under the guidance of instructors Sherry Brannen and Lee Melvin. Players hit a beach ball volleyball-style, and missed hits prompted review questions that had to be answered on the spot. Each team also had a coach to offer hints, creating an environment that simulated real-life nursing scenarios where quick thinking is essential.

“This creative approach to learning engages students and helps them prepare for the fast-paced decision-making required in nursing,” said Stefanie Barnes, Director of Health Sciences at Chipola College.
