Accreditation & Institutional Notices

Chipola College is a Level II baccalaureate degree granting institution and a comprehensive, public, state college supported by the State of Florida and Calhoun, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty, and Washington Counties.

Chipola College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The College has applied for institutional accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) through HLC’s Accelerated Process for Initial Accreditation and currently holds no status with HLC. Chipola College will maintain its SACSCOC accreditation until such time, if any, as initial accreditation is granted by HLC. Students’ credits, degrees and certificates, and eligibility for federal student financial aid are not affected.

Three distinct forms of oversight apply to Chipola College, and they are not interchangeable. Institutional accreditation applies to the College as a whole and establishes eligibility for federal student financial aid under Title IV. Programmatic accreditation applies to a single program through a field-specific agency; a program without separate programmatic accreditation remains covered by the College’s institutional accreditation. State licensure or program approval is granted by a Florida board or agency and governs eligibility for licensure or for a licensing examination. Holding one form does not imply the others.

Notice Regarding Changes to Policies

The provisions of this publication are not to be construed as a contract between the student and Chipola College. The College reserves the right to change any provision or requirement when such action becomes necessary. The student is advised to work closely with an advisor to verify the appropriateness of the courses for which to register.

The student is expected to be familiar with all rules and regulations of the College and will be held responsible for the observance of all rules and regulations.

Sexual harassment of students, which includes acts of sexual violence, is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX.
